Lacy Ripple Baby Blanket and Hat Crochet Pattern Set

This lacy ripple baby blanket and hat set makes a great gift for any new mom and is sure to become a treasured keepsake. As written, the blanket size works perfectly for a newborn or to use as a car seat blanket. If you would prefer a larger size, the pattern is so easy to adjust, and I have included directions below for you to modify to any size you desire (just make sure to buy more yarn!).

This lacy ripple blanket is a baby-sized version of the popular throw-sized V-Stitch Ripple Afghan here. Like the larger version, I love how this stitch creates a more lacy, open design than a traditional ripple pattern. If you are looking for a more traditional basic ripple baby blanket pattern check out the Watermelon Ripple Baby Blanket Pattern here.

This lacy ripple crochet pattern uses three colors which makes color changes super easy! The colors are carried up the sides of the blanket so there is no need to fasten off and rejoin for each color change … yay!

And because every baby looks adorable in a sweet handmade hat, I used the leftover yarn to work up a newborn-sized hat for a complete gift set … perfect for baby’s first photo shoot! The newborn hat pattern is included below. Use this hat size chart to adjust pattern for additional sizes.
